HAVING HIS CAKE
Superstar Barry Manilow (headlining at the Las Vegas Hilton April 2, 4, 5 & 9, 11, 12, and 30) cut a special cake celebrating his 300th show at the Las Vegas Hilton March 14. Two carbon arc searchlights lit up the sky around the property, and champagne flowed for Manilow and his singers, dancers and band in an after-show party in the Hilton’s Tempo Lounge. The wording on the cake: “Barry, because of your talent, 300 shows is a piece of cake.” The superstar opened “Manilow: Music and Passion” at the Las Vegas Hilton on February 23, 2005. He will be performing at the Las Vegas Hilton through 2009.

FUNNY MAN, GAMING, AND SUMMERSAULTS
Comedian George Wallace; Howard Stutz, Las Vegas Review-Journal gaming reporter; international gymnast Marian Dragulescu; and physical therapist Bob Donatelli join Ira on this Monday’s “Lunchtime With Ira, Live from the Las Vegas Hilton.” The show can be seen on Clark County Television (CCTV), Cox cable channel 4 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at Noon and 8 p.m., heard on NEWS/TALK 720 KDWN (Saturdays at 9 p.m.), and is available 24/7 at www.lvhilton.com. The show is produced live every Monday at Noon, features host Ira David Sternberg talking with the celebrities, entertainers, writers, personalities and community leaders who make Las Vegas the most exciting city in the world.

IT’S ALL IN THE GAME…ONE HOUR EARLIER
The $250,000 Game Show Spectacular at the Las Vegas Hilton, featuring hosts Bob Eubanks, Chuck Woolery, and Jamie Farr, has a new time. They’ve moved from 3 p.m. weekdays to 2 p.m. It’s gives the audience an hour earlier to win prizes and money and play some of America's most recognizable game shows together for the first time on one stage. Official new times: Mon., Tues., Thurs., Fri. 2 p.m.; Saturday 1:30 & 3:30 p.m.

ALL THAT JAZZ
The Las Vegas Hilton’s new “Group Therapy Thursdays” (every Thursday in the resort’s Tempo Lounge) is a new concept that features the Nova jazz group, drink specials by Sex Vodka, cozy blackjack tables and drawings for cash and prizes for players. Nova will offer a variety of music, including all styles of jazz: standards, bossa nova, samba, cha cha, r&b, Latin, and easy listening favorites from Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Bobby Caldwell, Billy Joel, Elton John, Tony Bennett, gospel legend Steve Hess and Sax recording artist Ron Monday. Special guests, including jazz legend Robert Conti, will sit in with the group. “Group Therapy” is presented every Thursday, 5;30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. After 10 p.m., the music continues with a DJ.

IT’S DOWN TO FOUR BUT IT’S A FIRST
The NCAA men’s basketball tournament is down to the final four, but it’s the first time all number one seeds made it. UCLA, Memphis, North Carolina, and Kansas will battle this Saturday in the basketball semi-finals in San Antonio. The winners will advance to Monday night’s championship game. The Las Vegas Hilton SuperBook has posted North Carolina the favorite at 8-5. Memphis is the second favorite at +275, Kansas is 3-1, and UCLA is now 7-2 to hoist the trophy. The SuperBook has also posted approximately 20 different propositions for each game. All the current odds are available in the SuperBook.
