THE FIRST SATURDAY IN MAY
As all horse players know, the first Saturday in May means spring is here and running for the roses will take place. The 134th running of Kentucky Derby is scheduled for this Saturday, May 3. 20 contenders will be hoping to wear the famous blanket of roses. Big Brown is the favorite this year, but is stocked by many contenders including Colonel John, Monba, Pyro, and Gayego. The Las Vegas Hilton SuperBook will be giving away official Kentucky Derby mint-julep glasses with every $20 wager (limit 2 person, while supplies last) on the Derby May 5. MAGICIAN, GOLDIGGERS, IMPRESSIONIST AND TOURISM EXEC
Impressionist Tom Stevens; magician Nathan Burton; the Original Goldiggers; and Rossi Ralenkotter, President and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority join Ira on this Monday’s “Lunchtime With Ira, Live from the Las Vegas Hilton.” The show can be seen on Clark County Television (CCTV), Cox cable channel 4 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at Noon and 8 p.m., heard on NEWS/TALK 720 KDWN (Saturdays at 9 p.m.), and is available 24/7 at www.lvhilton.com. The show is produced live every Monday at Noon, features host Ira David Sternberg talking with the celebrities, entertainers, writers, personalities and community leaders who make Las Vegas the most exciting city in the world.

The Las Vegas Hilton has recently introduced “Konami” (Advantage 5 series), a one cent/ 5 reel game that features two “Diamond Spinners” (progressive); two “Pele Hawaiian Goddess” machines and two “Dragon Crystal” machines in the front main casino. Two “Vibrant 7’s” (progressive) are located in the lobby. Two “Star Trek” penny machines are located in the Space Quest casino- and these are the only two in Las Vegas. Six “Bigger Bank Piggy Bank Community Gaming” machines are located in the middle casino along with four “Wizard of Oz” penny games.

ZEROES AND ONES, MINUS VIRUSES
VA InfoSec 2008, at the Las Vegas Hilton May 13-15, is the premier annual training event for the VA’s Cyber and Information Security community. It is the largest civilian cyber security conference in the federal government. Sessions will feature special insights into information assurance and information technology, and attendees will receive the latest information on critical issues and will have access to products and services from the commercial sector.
