WE'LL STEAK OUR REPUTATION ON THIS

In Esquire Magazine's September issue, writer John Mariani names "The 20 Best Steaks in America." His criteria: diversity of preparation and quality of meat. One of his 20 choices: Benihana at the Las Vegas Hilton! "The miraculous teppanyaki flat griddle instantly sears the high-quality meat, which remains rare inside while the chef finishes off the onions before your eyes with that slapdash spatula. A little sake, a couple of Kirins, you're having fun," writes Mariani. Reservations: 702-732-5755.

THE WINE SHOT ROUND THE WORLD

Kanonkop Pinotage, a full-bodied, award-winning wine from South Africa, is served exclusively in Las Vegas at the Las Vegas Hilton. Kanonkop Estate is situated on the lower slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain in the Stellenbosch Region of the Cape.

With the US Open starting August 25, the Las Vegas Hilton SuperBook has Nadal the favorite over Roger Federer. According to Jay Kornegay, executive director of Superbook, "We have Nadal at 3-2 and Federer 7-4. Others include Djokovic at 5-2 and Andy Roddick at 30-1. On the links side, the SuperBook has already posted odds on next year's Masters. Despite the injury, no change of the guard here." Tiger Woods is the overwhelming favorite at 2-1.
