(LATIN) FOOD FOR THOUGHT
The Las Vegas Hilton is once again the site for the Latin Food Festival on Sunday, August 17, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Twenty-one Latino restaurants and food companies and eight beverage companies will join 37 other professional companies for the event. Tickets are $10 per person and children under 12 years of age are free.

SIN CITY HEAT LAWYER?
Brenda Cowart, assistant. music director, keyboard player, and vocalist for Sin City Heat, (the hot group that performs in Shimmer Cabaret at the Las Vegas Hilton) has been busy hitting the books-as in law books) on her down time. This July, she took the Nevada State Bar Exam in Las Vegas. Does this mean Sin City Heat, performing since August 2005 at the Hilton, will have on-stage counsel?

SIN CITY, PART TWO
Could the Star Trek Convention, going full force at the Las Vegas Hilton, have "absorbed" Sin City Heat Music Director Steven Lee? A fan of the band, who also is a "Trekkie," gave Lee a "Star Trek" Jersey as an appreciation gift. Lee proudly wore the Jersey for the rest of the night on stage, which worked out well with the other members of the group, since red matches their costumes.

TWISTING, ROCKING AND IMPRESSIONS
Rock and roll singer-songwriter Chubby Checker, singing impressionist Larry G. Jones, and Sally Steele, publisher of Vegas Rocks! Magazine join Ira on this Monday's "Lunchtime With Ira, Live from the Las Vegas Hilton." The show can be seen on Clark County Television (CCTV), Cox cable channel 4 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at Noon and 8 p.m., heard on NEWS/TALK 720 KDWN (Saturdays at 9 p.m.), and is available 24/7 at www.lvhilton.com. The show, produced live every Monday at Noon, features host Ira David Sternberg talking with the celebrities, entertainers, writers, personalities and community leaders who make Las Vegas the most exciting city in the world.

Prizes included dinners and shows at the Hilton. Members dined at the Hilton buffet prior to the tournament, held at the slot tournament area in the SuperBook.
