DESPITE RAIN, TIGER STILL THE ONE TO BEAT
The first round of the US Open was suspended due to rain, but Tiger Woods remains the huge favorite. The defending champion is listed at 7-4 odds to repeat as champion by the Las Vegas Hilton SuperBook, according to Jay Kornegay, executive director. He is an overwhelming favorite, as the next listed player is 15-1 and that is the number #2 player in the world, Phil Mickelson. Other contenders include; Geoff Olilvy 20-1, Padraig Harrington 40-1, Jim Furyk 15-1, and Paul Casey at 25-1. The SuperBook will be offering updated odds after each round and player matchups throughout the tournament. All the current odds are available in the SuperBook.

CELEBRATED HILTON
Readers of Celebrated Living, the luxury magazine for American Airlines premium class passengers, selected and saluted the Las Vegas Hilton in its summer 2009 edition. The honor? SUMMER WITH IRA
“Summer With Ira,” a summer radio series broadcast during the production hiatus of “Lunchtime With Ira,” can be heard on KUNV-FM (91.5) at 6 p.m. on Thursdays. The show debuts next Thursday, June 25. NEW MENU IN PARADISE
The new Paradise Café menu at the Las Vegas Hilton features a variety of appetizers including Artichoke Spinach Dip and Vegas Jalapeño Poppers, as well as a different hamburger entre, Sliders (three “petite” burgers: mushroom and Swiss; BBQ bacon and all-American cheeseburger).
