THAT’S GREEK TO BARRY
Las Vegas Hilton headliner Barry Manilow is celebrating the release of his new DVD, BARRY MANILOW: IN CONCERT – THE LEGENDARY 1978 CONCERT AT THE GREEK THEATRE. The DVD is only available at www.Starz.bz/, but Barry returns to the Hilton Theater May 22-24 and 28-30.

NBA PLAYOFFS HEATING UP

With the defending champion Boston Celtics struggling and the Los Angeles Lakers coming off a shocking game one loss to the Rockets, the NBA playoffs might be more wide open than most critics thought, says Jay Kornegay, executive director of the Las Vegas Hilton SuperBook. The Cleveland Cavaliers have been impressive but not tested and the Denver Nuggets look like they are playing their best when it counts. The Las Vegas Hilton SuperBook odds indicate the Cavaliers are the team to beat and list them at 4-5 favorites to take the crown. The Lakers are 5-4, Celtics 40-1, Nuggets 10-1, Magic 18-1, and the Rockets are listed at 25-1. All the current odds are available in the SuperBook

Each week, a retail store at the Las Vegas Hilton features a unique product. This week it’s the wind-up music box that plays “Love Me Tender” and “My Way.” It’s just like the old fashioned wind ups, but these small music boxes play the classic tunes of Elvis Presley or Frank Sinatra. LAB AT THE HILTON
The International Society for Laboratory Hematology (ISLH), meeting at the Las Vegas Hilton May 12-14, is a non-profit organization founded in 1992 by an international group of laboratory professionals. The meeting is acknowledged as the leading laboratory hematology symposium, with state-of-the-art concurrent sessions in cellular analysis, flow cytometry, hemostasis, molecular diagnostics and transfusion medicine.

MOTHER’S DAY AT BENIHANA
Benihana’s at the Las Vegas Hilton features a Mother’s Day special. The famed teppanyaki restaurant, the largest Benihana in the world, will feature a full menu, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday, May 10 including tender steaks and juicy chicken, all prepared and served by entertaining chefs.
