LOUIS PRIMA, JR. AND THE WITNESSES PERFORM AT LAS VEGAS HILTON JUNE 29 GROUP BRINGS BACK LEGENDARY SHOW, SWING AND SWAGGER OF FATHER'S MUSIC

Louis Prima, Jr., the heir apparent to his father's legacy of taking a song and "swinging it" into an unforgettable mash up of lyrics and jazz., headlines at the Las Vegas Hilton June 29, along with the famous Witnesses.

"We hope to recapture the excitement that my Dad brought to each and every show," says Prima, Jr., "the kind of fun performance where entertainers up and down the Strip would hustle over to catch, no matter what time in the morning it would be." Prima Sr's styles encompassed all styles of music as long as it swung hard and fast.

Louis, like his father, leads the band with the trumpet and performs such Prima hits as "Jump, Jive & Wail," "Sing, Sing, Sing," "Angelina/Zooma Zooma," "That Old Black Magic," "Buona Sera," "When You're Smiling," and "Just A Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody."

On Father's Day 1965, Gia Maione, Prima's singing partner and wife, gave birth to Louis' only son. Louis Jr. began his musical career with drums at the age of five. Moving on to piano by 8, Prima Jr. was becoming a virtuoso of all musical instruments including trumpet and guitar. Louis Jr. even played in a heavy metal band in the late 1980's.

It was hearing rocker Brian Setzer recording his father's music that brought Louis, Jr. back to his roots. He has created a swinging, rocking ten-piece band whose strongest desire is to recreate the Wildest Show in Vegas again.

Louis Prima was a legendary Vegas star. His name commanded top billing for 40 years and set a standard for showmanship.
