GULLIKSON, KRIEK LEADING THE COURT AT LAS VEGAS
TENNIS FANTASY WEEKEND AT LAS VEGAS HILTON MAY 18-20


LAS VEGAS-- Tom Gullikson, a former ATP player who captained the U.S. Davis Cup Team, coached Pete Sampras and beat Bjorn Borg and Jimmy Connors, and two-time Australian Open Champion Johan Kriek are leading the court at the Las Vegas Tennis Fantasy 2 at the Las Vegas Hilton May 18-20, 2007.

Participants in this three-day adult fantasy tennis camp will participate in a Friday night welcome reception with Gullikson and Kriek; enjoy Barry Manilow either Friday or Saturday night; receive three-hour on-court instruction with demonstrations from the pros and lunch on Saturday; and receive three-hour on-court instruction, play and demonstrations with the pros and lunch on Sunday.

Former U.S. Davis Cup Captain and U.S. Olympic Coach Tom Gullikson has earned the respect of the international tennis community both on and off the court as player, coach, commentator and columnist for Tennis Magazine. As a player, Gullikson reached a career high of #38 in singles, recording wins over Borg, Connors, Nastase and Edberg. He reached a career high of #9 in doubles, with most notable performances with twin brother Tim, with whom he reached the Wimbledon final in 1983; won (1) career singles title and (15) career doubles titles; and coached Jennifer Capriati from 1990-1991. Gullikson served as U.S. Davis Cup Captain from 1994-1999, winning the Davis Cup in 1995 with a 3-2 win over Russia in the final; coached the U.S. Olympic Team in Atlanta in 1996, helping Agassi to the gold medal. He currently writes for Tennis Magazine when not raising funds and awareness for The Tim & Tom Gullikson Foundation, which has raised more than $3 million dollars for the care and support of brain tumor patients and their families.

Johan Kriek is a member of an elite group of tennis professionals who have multiple Grand Slam singles titles; he is a two-time winner of The Australian Open (1981 and 1982). His all-court game and foot speed carried him to 14 singles and eight doubles titles in his 12-year career on the ATP Tour. Johan’s other Grand Slam achievements include quarterfinals in the 1978, 1979 US Open and semifinal in 1980. He was a quarterfinalist in the 1981 and 1982 Wimbledon Championships and a semifinalist in the 1986 French Open. In 1985 he reached the semifinals at the Australian Open. Johan was ranked seventh in the world by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and was in the Top 10 in 1980-1983 and again in 1985 and was in the Top 30 players in the world during his entire career. He has wins over many top players – Connors, Borg, Vilas, Noah, Agassi, Chang, Stan Smith, Arthur Ashe, John McEnroe, Pat Cash, Mats Wilander, Stefan Edberg and others. Johan teamed with fellow South African Kevin Curren to sweep the 2005 Wimbledon and US Open Men's 45 doubles titles.

Gullikson and Kriek will conduct a free one-hour tennis clinic at the Las Vegas Hilton May 18, 4 p.m. - 5 p.m. for Las Vegas Junior Tennis players involved with the Marty Hennessey Junior Tennis Foundation.
